The Devil to Pay is a 1975 pulp science fiction novel by Jim Lawrence (writing as Hunter Adams), featuring his "super-agent" character Peter Lance, the Man from Planet X. It is the third in a series, following The She-Beast (1975) and Tiger by the Tail (1975), which portrays the protagonist as an alien agent engaging in Cold War-style adventures and romantic encounters.
