The Silent Blade is a 1998 fantasy novel by R.A. Salvatore, part of the Legend of Drizzt series and the first in the Paths of Darkness trilogy, set in the Dungeons & Dragons Forgotten Realms universe. The story follows Drizzt Do'Urden's quest to destroy the malevolent Crystal Shard, but the artifact falls into the hands of the dark elf mercenary Jarlaxle and his ally Artemis Entreri, while Drizzt's companions, Wulfgar and Regis, also struggle with their own inner demons. The book won the Origins Award for best game-related novel in 1998.
